How it all Started

Theo Allen McNair, Sr., Prophet, Pastor and Teacher at Believers’ Bible Christian Church in Atlanta, Georgia, made his heavenly transition Saturday, October 10, 2015.

Allen McNair was born March 6, 1946 in Dillon, South Carolina to Thearchie and Rebecca (James) McNair. He attended Dillon County’s Gordon High School where he excelled as a prep all-state football player. After graduating from high school, he received a football scholarship to Voorhees College in Denmark, South Carolina, where he pursued a degree in Business and received many All-Conference accolades as an outstanding football player.

Allen learned, at a young age, the value of family, being faithful, and the rewards of setting goals and working diligently to fulfill them. These core values would later set the foundation for what the Lord had in store for him in the years to come.

In high school, Allen met his beloved wife, Anna Lucille Campbell (Lucy), whom he married on March 18, 1967. From their union came two sons and one daughter; Timothy, Angela, and Theo Jr. In 1977, Allen gave his life to Christ after years of searching for an inner peace he so desperately desired.

After accepting Jesus as His Lord and Savior, Allen, along with his wife and family, embarked on a faith journey for the Lord that has impacted thousands of lives for over 30 plus years.

In 1979, Allen started Allen McNair Ministries as a Thursday Night in-home Bible study with his family and one additional person. Allen devoted countless hours to study and meditation of God’s word; diligently searching the scriptures. His knowledge of the Bible and practical application of it began to impact the lives of those around him. It was during these early years that the Lord began formulating the foundation of Allen’s life mission.

In the early 1980’s, he started a radio ministry titled “The Authority of the Believer” that aired weekly throughout the City of Atlanta. Through this radio ministry, the Lord continued to expand his desire and capacity to do more for the kingdom. In 1983, the spirit of the Lord spoke to Allen and instructed him to “Take the message of Faith, Healing, and Miracles to the nations.” It was shortly after receiving this divine mandate that the Lord told him to resign from his managerial career and to go into full-time ministry.

As he continued to trust and obey the Lord’s directions, he was further instructed by God to “Establish a Ministry and Outreach Center,” and on July 23, 1984, he founded Believers’ Bible Ministry and Outreach Center. The first Sunday service had 66 people in attendance. Over the course of the next few years the ministry, as well as the anointing on Allen McNair’s life, grew and he quickly was established as one of the pioneers of the Word of Faith movement in the City of Atlanta.

In 1990, the ministry evolved into Believers’ Bible Christian Church and he became affectionately known to many as “Pastor Allen McNair.” He truly had a Pastor’s heart as he tirelessly poured his life into the many individuals the Lord led across his path. During this time of growth and ministry transition, God called Pastor McNair to the mission field where he traveled abroad to Haiti, Africa, and Europe ministering to thousands.

During his time on the mission field, the Lord allowed Pastor McNair to partner with several men of God, including his spiritual father and Mentor Dr. Morris Cerullo of Morris Cerullo World Evangelism in San Diego, California. Pastor McNair dedicated 10 years hosting miracle crusades, teaching, establishing churches, and transforming countless lives with the message of Faith, Healing, and Miracles. Serving as a General on the mission field was definitely one of his true ministry passions, which ultimately led to the establishment of Believers’ Bible Christian Church in Accra, Ghana. This ministry continues to bring about global change on the continent of Africa.

Pastor McNair launched a very popular television ministry, “Faith, Healing, and Miracles for You,” that aired all over the country in various markets. Many lives were changed by his television ministry as people came to Christ and received healing in their bodies as a result of his powerful, yet simple messages on faith and healing.

An additional area of outreach that had a profound impact was the Believers’ Bible Christian Church School of Ministry. Pastor McNair started this two-year ministerial course of study to prepare and equip men and women to fulfill the call of God on their lives.

Pastor’s love and compassion for the youth inspired him to establish Believers’ Bible Christian Nursery, Preschool, and Academy which served children beginning at six weeks old through the eighth grade. During its 17-year existence, hundreds of youth were educated in a safe, Christ-centered environment that promoted academic excellence. BBCA was always lauded for outstanding academic achievement in the private school educational arena. Pastor’s influence in the lives of our youth is one of his proudest achievements.

Over the course of his ministerial journey up until his transition to heaven, Pastor McNair’s deepest affection was for the members of Believers’ Bible Christian Church whom he loved dearly. His compassion for the lost was intensified by a word given to him by the Lord in prayer to be “A voice of God’s love, a carrier of God’s compassion, and a revealer of God’s goodness.”

Pastor McNair is loved and respected by many, and his impact on our lives will give us lasting memories of the goodness of God upon his life. His love for his wife, family, and extended family fueled the passion and love he had for everyone. His legacy is one of a selfless man of God who put the needs of others above his own.

On October 10, 2015, at the age of 69, the Lord proudly said, “Well done, thou good and faithful servant... enter into my rest.” His life and legacy will truly live on in us.
